Introduction to the Site Our 2012 summer trip to Italy comprised a Rick Steves’ tour of the “heart of Italy,” with an extra day in Florence prior to the tour, and an extra day in Rome at the end. We visited Florence, Monterosso in the Cinque Terre, Lucca, Volterra, and Rome. The 9-day tour was long enough for us to form bonds of friendship with our fellow travelers, and to get a glimpse of Italy, which whet our appetite to return. This site will direct you to albums of photos of the five places we visited. Rather than capturing all of what we saw on our trip, these photos (less than 20% of the ones we took) were selected primarily to remind our travel companions of the wonderful time we had together.
